Previous waste industry experience is a big plusbut not required. Were happy to train the right person!
The schedule is MondayFriday and occasional Saturdays as needed, around 45 hours per week.
The starting pay $28/hr with annual pay increases and bonus opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Safely operate a garbage truck on designated routes to collect solid waste. Waste experience is preferred but not required.
Read route sheets and service each customer listed or assigned by the dispatcher.
Perform routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
Perform a physically demanding job, including loading and unloading, sometimes without assistance.
Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift and load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
Interact courteously with customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
Requires extensive physical activity, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 pounds.
Work environment involves exposure to physical risks, such as moving mechanical parts, requiring basic safety precautions.
Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including frequent wet and/or humid environments, as well as fumes and vibrations.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement
Clean driving record (please bring a copy of your MVR to the in-person interview)
Ability to operate 10-, 13-, and 18-speed transmissions (preferred, not required)
Minimum 1 year of relevant driving experience
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Safety-Sensitive YES (Drug Test Required)
