Job Purpose:
Operates and safely drives vehicles with a gross vehicle weight over 26,000 lbs to transport paving materials and construction supplies or equipment.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned vehicle.
Drive vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight over 26,000 lbs.
Ensure contents are properly secured in a truck, flatbed to prevent damage/injury.
Stay on a predetermined route and ensure timely transport and delivery.
Perform inspections on your vehicle prior to and following each trip.
Check weather conditions and road reports before departure.
Always ensure your vehicle is kept clean.
Maintain vehicle as needed (refuel, check oil, tire pressure, etc)
Notify managers of any major maintenance issues encountered.
Track and report working hours.
Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive in according to weather/road conditions.
Performs related duties as assigned
Maintains compliance with all company policies and procedures
Education, Skills and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Must have a clean driving record.
Knowledge of safety regulations and traffic laws
Previous experience driving a triaxle dump truck preferred
Single Axle with CDL A or B License
At least 2+ years of experience
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Excellent vision and hand-eye coordination
