Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery night shift position in an acute care setting requiring a TX or compact RN license and BLS/NRP certifications.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Work in the Labor & Delivery unit of an acute care hospital
• Night shift position with hours from 6:45pm to 7:00am
• Assigned every other weekend
• Unit averages 45 to 65 births per month, with increased activity during the summer
• Responsible for care of well babies, postpartum mothers, and laboring patients
• No circulating C-Sections, as the OR handles these cases
• Collaborates with a team of 5 OB physicians and 1 certified nurse midwife
• Uses Allscripts-Paragon EMR system
• Must be able to provide comprehensive care for laboring mothers, postpartum patients, and well newborns
• 12-hour orientation provided at the start of assignment
• Holiday coverage may be required as per unit needs
• Candidates may not have been employed directly by a CommonSpirit facility, including CHI or Dignity, within the past year
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• Active TX or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• Two professional references: one supervisor reference from the last 12 months and an additional peer or supervisor reference from the last 3 years
• Copy of driver’s license required for consideration
• Pending licensure or certifications not accepted
