The interpreter shall provide Sign Language Interpreting Services from American Sign Language (ASL) to English and English to ASL. Activities will include interpretation for deaf and hard-of-hearing employees in various settings Interpreter services may range from simple to complex and may be sensitive in nature. Our candidates will excel at working in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment while staying in the interpreter role while upholding the following skills: Strong listening, research, memory, and sign language skills. The ability to sign in many situations, including private meetings and one-on-one settings. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of American Sign Language and Deaf Culture. Must possess well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with members from a variety of backgrounds. Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships. Uphold RID-NAD Professional Code of Conduct Required Minimum Qualifications: Fluent in American Sign Language and English. Ability to use Signed English and Manually Coded English is preferred. Must be able to interpret/transliterate fluently and understand the continuum of sign communication.
