Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for our Labor & Delivery team in Augusta, GA. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate, evidence-based care to expectant mothers and newborns across the spectrum of labor, delivery and immediate postpartum care. You will be part of a dynamic interdisciplinary team in a high-acuity obstetric environment and have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the patient experience and clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform initial and ongoing assessments of laboring patients and their newborns; develop and implement individualized care plans and evaluate outcomes.
  • Monitor maternal and fetal status (including electronic fetal monitoring), identify changes, and intervene or escalate as appropriate.
  • Assist with labor management including induction, augmentation, pain management, and postpartum care; administer medications and perform obstetric nursing interventions.
  • Provide patient- and family-centred education on labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, newborn care and breastfeeding.
  • Collaborate effectively with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesiology, neonatal team and other disciplines for safe, coordinated care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all nursing care, assessments, interventions and outcomes in the electronic record.
  • Participate in unit performance improvement, quality and safety initiatives; contribute to shared decision‐making and nursing practice development.
  • Precept and mentor new staff, support a positive team environment, and model professionalism, respect and lifelong learning.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
  • Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Georgia (or Compact License).
  • Certifications required: BLS (Basic Life Support); Obstetric/(Maternal -Newborn) certifications such as Electronic Fetal Monitoring preferred; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred.
  • Previous Labor & Delivery nursing experience preferred (1-2 years or more in obstetric care).
  • Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, time-management and communication skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to patient-and family-centered care, teamwork and continuous improvement.
