Laboratory Technician

Essential Functions & Requirements:

• Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times
• Performs sample identification and preliminary screening of all incoming waste samples
• Conducts fingerprint and wet chemistry analysis
• Samples preparation of waste and water samples for organic and inorganic analysis
• Completes an inventory of reagents, standards, gasses and glassware
• Completes the standard preparation for quantitative analysis
• Operates and maintains lab instrumentation according to establish guidelines
• Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related field or experience in environmental/industrial laboratory (required)

Experience:

• Previous experience with laboratory instrumentation (preferred)
• Previous experience with EPA SW-846 and ASTM methodology (preferred)

Competencies:

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong written and verbal communications skills to effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders
• Strong laboratory safety and housekeeping skills
• Ability / flexibility to work shift schedules including days, nights, weekends and holidays
• Regular and predictable attendance to perform the functions and requirements of this role
