Farm Manager Plaza Aquafarms 3018 Willow Pass Rd, Concord, CA 94519 Plaza Aquafarms, located near Sacramento, California, has an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to significantly contribute to a very dynamic and innovative farming environment. The company produces white sturgeon for both meat and caviar. The company has grown significantly in the past 6 months, going from one farm site to six through acquisitions. The farms are all intensive farms; some flow through and some RAS. We are looking for a seasoned, hardworking innovative individual who can make significant contributions to our operations for one of our farm sites, depending upon your experience, it could be either one of the RAS systems or a flow through system. Your primary focus will be working on that specific farm as the site manager, contributing in the planning and implementation of our vision for the entire operation. You will have skills and knowledge of pumps, piping, alarm systems, oxygen injection systems, bio-filters, chillers as well as either already knowing or have the capacity to learn the unique biology of sturgeons. You must be capable of running the farm as the manager, as well as interacting with the needs of the other farming sites, under the direction of the overall Production Manager. You will have skills not only in a hatchery setting, but in a production atmosphere, not afraid to do what needs to be done. You will contribute to spawning, hatchery operations, harvesting planning and management, record keeping, water quality monitoring, feeding, fish movements, facilities and equipment maintenance and be a jack of all trades on the farm. You must have demonstratable experience in personnel management in organizing your crew for maximum performance as well as all aspects of managing an intensive fish farm. You will not be afraid to participate as needed, in unforeseen events. If you are an experienced fish farmer, which is a requirement, you will know what life on the farm is like, the fish always come first. The ability to progress and grow within the company is solely dependent upon you.
