Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Intern to support key safety initiatives and help ensure a safe and compliant work environment. This hands-on internship provides valuable experience in project management, safety compliance, data analysis, and employee training, making it ideal for students pursuing a degree in Environmental, Health, and Safety.
As an EHS Intern, you'll play a key role in identifying potential safety hazards, assisting with investigations, reporting metrics, and supporting various safety programs and initiatives — including participation in the Safety Committee.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Assist in managing safety-related projects , ensuring tasks are completed on time and within scope
Follow and enforce safety protocols to ensure compliance with OSHA and internal safety standards
Observe work areas for unsafe conditions and take proactive steps to address and resolve issues
Investigate and document incidents, accidents, employee complaints, and cases of work-related ill health
Analyze safety data and generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports using Excel and other tools
Deliver and support health and safety training sessions for employees and management
Create and present safety-related presentations and training materials
Actively participate in the Safety Committee and contribute to ongoing safety initiatives
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a college-level program at an accredited university
Major : Environmental, Health & Safety or a closely related field
Class Standing : Sophomore, Junior, or Senior
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office , especially Excel (including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and formulas)
Prior EHS experience is a plus, but not required
Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated passion for employee well-being, safety, and continuous learning
Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
Comfortable working in both office and industrial environments
