Job Description

Connect. Build. Revolutionize. Ready to help redefine skilled labor hiring? At Toolbelt, we're passionate about building the best construction labor procurement solution. We value teamwork, both internally and with our customers, and we prioritize gathering feedback to drive substantive, innovative improvements to our software. Our teams collaborate closely across all departments to create the best job-matching platform for our customers.

As a Recruiter at ToolBelt, you'll be a key driver of our success by expanding our network of skilled contractors in critical markets. In this role, you'll reach out directly to contractors, introducing them to the benefits of ToolBelt and showing how we can connect them with rewarding work opportunities. You'll have the chance to build strong relationships, empowering contractors to join a community that's transforming the construction industry.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Talent Sourcing and Pipeline Development: Proactively identifying, engaging, and cultivating relationships with qualified candidates across multiple channels including job boards, social networks, professional associations, and personal networks. This involves maintaining an active pipeline of candidates even when specific roles aren't immediately available.

  • Candidate Screening and Assessment: Conducting thorough interviews and evaluations to ensure candidates meet requirements outlined by enterprise customers. This includes verifying credentials, assessing soft skills, and providing detailed candidate profiles to clients with honest assessments of strengths and potential concerns.

  • Enterprise Customer Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong partnerships with enterprise customers through regular communication, understanding their business needs.

  • Time Allocation and Scheduling: Balancing time between active recruiting (sourcing and screening), enterprise customer management, and candidate relationship maintenance. This often means dedicating specific time blocks to different activities while remaining flexible for urgent enterprise customer or candidate needs.

  • Deadline and Timeline Coordination: Managing competing deadlines when multiple enterprise customers have urgent needs across different time zones and availability constraints, and ensuring no opportunities fall through cracks due to poor follow-up timing.

We're looking for a motivated, high achieving Recruiter with:

  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience within sales, staffing, or recruitment, ideally with agency recruitment or a high-volume recruiting environment. Experience in the construction or trades industries is a plus but not required. Start-up experience is highly preferred.

  • Tech Savvy: Working knowledge of HR databases, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS). Ability to operate Google and/or Microsoft Suites.

  • Driven To Succeed: Proven track record of achieving results targeting high performance in ambiguous environments.

  • Exceptional Communication: Strong verbal and written skills with an ability to take a persuasive, people-centered approach. Ability to adapt your style and approach to your audience.

  • Collaborative: Able to work onsite in the Chicagoland area and effectively partner with team members, ToolBelt Leadership, and external vendors/contractors.

  • Continuous Learner: Someone with a strong desire to grow and develop within the talent acquisition industry.

Why ToolBelt? We're not just a job platform, we're the #1 job platform for residential skilled labor. Our free, user-friendly platform puts opportunity at your fingertips. Our mission cuts through the complexity: we connect America's largest retailers and home improvement companies with skilled laborers who need consistent work in their communities. Simple. Powerful.
