Overview Agency: Specialty: Communications Background: The Delaware Community Foundation (DCF) is a nonprofit organization deeply dedicated to partnering with philanthropists to build opportunity and advance equity in Delaware. Our mission is to strengthen Delaware through community-based philanthropy, and we are looking for a Director of Communications & Marketing who shares our passion and commitment. Opportunity: The DCF seeks an innovative, adaptable, and collaborative team member with a passion for communications and marketing work to join our organization as Director of Communications & Marketing. The individual filling this new position will provide a strategic vision and implementation of robust communications and marketing efforts for DCF and its associated organizations, particularly Healthy Communities Delaware. The main objectives of the role include 1) positioning the DCF as the leading voice of philanthropy in Delaware, 2) strengthening meaningful communication with internal and external stakeholders, and 3) driving inquiry from potential donors and recipients. The Director exemplifies DCF’s commitment to excellent donor service and inspires fulfillment of our Donor Promise, to help people give with joy and confidence, throughout the entire organization. The position reports directly to the Vice President of Communications & Marketing and is based in the DCF’s Wilmington headquarters. DCF staff are currently working in a hybrid in-office/remote model. Position the DCF as the leading voice of philanthropy in Delaware and strengthen communication with internal and external stakeholders. Drive inquiry from potential donors and recipients and support donor services aligned with the Donor Promise. Qualifications Five or more years of experience in communications and/or marketing. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with media, public and private sector stakeholders, and the public. Excellent verbal and short- and long-form written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), social media platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn), basic understanding of website content management systems (WordPress) and email campaign programs (e.g., Mailchimp). Experience with graphic design programs (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or similar) is a plus. Compensation & Benefits Salary range depends on experience and education: $80,000-$95,000.
