We are a trusted resource for entrepreneurs and small business owners, offering no-cost, confidential consulting and targeted educational programs. What You'll Do
As a Small Business Consultant, you'll be the first point of contact for many of our clients-triaging inquiries, providing targeted resources, and offering in-depth consulting. You'll work directly with entrepreneurs to:
Develop business and marketing plans
Prepare clients to create financial projections
Improve operations and increase profitability
Navigate challenges and identify growth opportunities
You'll also represent the SBDC at local events, build relationships within the entrepreneurial ecosystem, and contribute to special projects and non-credit courses. You may also have the opportunity to work with UW-Madison School of Business students.

Compensation:The starting salary for the position is $60,000 depending on experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications:Minimum 5 years of experience in business or project management and/or small business ownership
Strong understanding of small business operations
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to analyze complex business problems and craft actionable solutions
Experience with business planning tools (e.g., Business Model Canvas)
Ability to prepare and interpret financial statements and projections
Public speaking or teaching experience
Bachelor's Degree Required; in business, management, finance, marketing, communications or related field
Masters of Business Administration or related field preferred.
