ChristianaCare Wilmington Hospital is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager to support the Wilmington Cardiac Care Unit (WCCU), 3 Medical Observation (3MO) and 1 West Medical Observation (1W). WCCU is a 9-bed Stepdown unit that provides specialized care for patients admitted with primary cardiac diagnoses (such as NSTEMI, dysrhythmias, heart failure). 3MO (8 beds) and 1W (10 beds) are newly constructed Medical Observation units that provide care for adult medical patients admitted from the Emergency Department under Observation status. Common diagnoses include (but are not limited to) syncope, chest pain and ruling out stroke – conditions that need work-up beyond what’s provided in the ED but may not require a traditional inpatient hospital stay. As Observation units, 3MO & 1W are characterized by quick patient throughput and a high degree of interdisciplinary collaboration. Staff on each of these three units are cross-trained to work on the others.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will assist the Nurse Manager in the overall administrative direction for the clinical practice of nursing and delivery of high-quality and efficient care to all patients utilizing the services of this area.
Shares 24-hour responsibility and accountability for all aspects of daily operational activity.
Directly supervises nursing and technical personnel: Assesses the proficiency of staff, oversees daily staffing and scheduling needs of the department, evaluates staff performance, and Counsels staff members when performance issues are identified.
Participates in all hiring, promotion, salary adjustment, and termination decisions. Functions as a highly transparent role model, demonstrating quality expertise and professional behaviors that support the professional development of staff and the strategic goals of CCHS.
Identifies and develops strategies to improve the overall knowledge base and professionalism of staff.
Directs, mentors, and supports all levels of staff on the floor.
Identifies potential future leaders and engages in succession planning.
Analyzes administrative and operational functions; implements appropriate changes and system-wide improvements.
Requirements:
RN licensure in the State of Delaware or compact state
Full Time – 8, 9 or 10-hour shifts - While shift times are flexible, at least 60% of the ANMs time will be during the evening or overnight hours.
Annual Compensation Range $110,177.60 - $176,280.00 This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting.
