Job Description
Adjunct Faculty for Economics
Salary: $965/per credit
Trinity Washington University is seeking dynamic Economics Adjunct instructors for Spring 2026 to teach one or more of the following Economics courses:
ECON 101 – Microeconomics I Tuesday and Thursday, 1:30pm-2:45pm
(3 credits)
ECON 102 – Macroeconomics II Tuesday and Thursday, 3:00pm-4:15pm
(3 credits)
ECON 101: This course is an overview of microeconomic theory. It covers the basic principles of the economic approach and develops the demand and supply model of a competitive market. This model is then used to show what economics has to say about real-world markets and government policies affecting those markets. Departures from the competitive paradigm are also considered to show how the economic approach can be useful when markets are imperfectly competitive.
ECON 102: This course is an overview of current macroeconomic theory. It covers the determination of GDP, unemployment, inflation, interest rates, and exchange rates in the long run and in the short run. The course is roughly divided into two halves, with the first half mainly concerned about the long run and the second half mainly about the short-run. Economic growth, potential GDP, and the natural rate of unemployment are discussed in the first half, while economic fluctuations and policies to combat them are treated in the second half. Along the way, students build several simple models that they can use to conduct a macroeconomic analysis of government policies.
